_Jason Weiss grew up at the Jersey shore near Asbury Park in the 1960s, went to high school and college in Berkeley in the '70s, spent the decade of the '80s in Paris, and has lived in Brooklyn ever since.  In the '90s he received a doctorate in comparative literature from NYU and briefly taught literature on the college level, but has been working mostly as a freelance writer, editor, and translator.
